DOLL’S WARDROBE

As my collection of Blythe dolls increased, so did their wardrobe. I bought some of their clothes over the internet but I made most of them myself. At the end I reached the point that I needed more space to store them. A visit to the local stores, produced a small, three shelved cabinet.

I also bought some garden rods and after some thought I came up with this idea.

Here is one of the cabinet’s shelves.  As you can see I fixed two rods. One higher for the dresses and one lower for the tops and skirts. I did the same with the other two.

Then I had another problem. The doll coat hangers were too small to fit on the rods so I decided to make my own hangers. Below you can find the tutorial of how I made them.

HOW TO MAKE DOLL’S COAT HANGERS

You’ll need

  • Small size wooden pegs (the ones with the metal spring in the middle)
  •  Metal hooks (make sure they are big enough to fit around the rod of your doll’s wardrobe ; my rods are 12mm and the hooks are 14mm)
  •  A drill fitted with the right drill bit (I fitted with a 2mm one)
  •  Pencil
  •  Ruler

 Instructions

 1.       Separate the peg legs and discard the metal spring.

 2.       With the ruler find the middle of a leg and draw a dot on it.

3.       Drill a hole where the dot is.
